Royal Recommendations!!!
**This post is sponsored by Penguin Teen for the release of Royals by Rachel Hawkins**
Are you looking for some entertaining things to tide you over until the royal wedding on May 19th, 2018? Look no farther! Before Harry and Meghan tie the not, here are some royal-themed books, movies, and TV shows to tide you over until the royal wedding.
Royals by Rachel Hawkins
This new release from Rachel Hawkins came out May 1st, and it is a fun, lighthearted, breath of fresh air! If you like all things royal, this is the book for you!
Royals follows our main character Daisy whose sister Eleanor is engaged to the Crown Prince of Scotland. Daisy herself has no interest in the fame that comes with royalty, but as a result of the media frenzy following her sister, she and her family are forced to move to Scotland from their home in Florida. An intriguing boy named Miles has been tasked with showing Daisy the ropes of royalty, but the Crown Prince's younger brother, Sebastian, starts creating scandals everywhere that Daisy gets involved with.
One of my favorite books of all time is actually The Royal We by Heather Cocks and Jessica Morgan. Although it's technically an adult book, any teen or YA reader will love it!
I can't talk about royal-related things and not mention one of my favorite guilty pleasures (that is not a book)... E!'s The Royals.
The show follows a fictionalized British royal family, and there's drama, romance, scandal... and maybe even murder. There are kings, queens, princes, princesses, scheming uncles, American love interests, and hot bodyguards! The Royals is currently broadcasting it's 4th season, and you can watch it every Sunday at 10pm EST on E! The Royals is the perfect show to binge this May!
This wouldn't be royal recommendations without The Princess Diaries... both the books by Meg Cabot and the movies. There's even a book in the series called Royal Wedding!!
We all know the story: Mia Thermopolis finds out her dad is a prince and she's the heir to the throne of Genovia, a posh European country. Personally, The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement is my favorite of the bunch!
Lastly I'm going to recommend The Heir and the Spare by Emily Albright.
The book follows Evie, and American who goes to Oxford for college. There, she meets and falls for Prince Edmund, the spare (aka the fictional version of Prince Harry) to the throne of England. Oh, and she finds out that she may be royalty herself...
There you have it! Tell me in the comments below if you're as excited about the royal wedding as I am, if you've read (or seen) any of these, and if there are other royal-related books, TV shows, or movies I should read or watch!
Remember to head over to a bookstore to pick up Royals by Rachel Hawkins!
XOXO,
Isabella
